About the Role
As a Business Analyst within a major publicβsector debt recovery transformation programme, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering services that positively impact millions of citizens. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document requirements, ensuring that solutions align with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and meet the needs of both the business and end users.
Responsibilities
β’ Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Engage with stakeholders to elicit, validate, and prioritise business requirements. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable specifications.
β’ Process Mapping & Improvement: Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for optimisation. Document workflows and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and compliance.
β’ Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops and meetings to ensure alignment between technical teams and business objectives. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
β’ GDS Standards & Public Sector Compliance: Ensure all deliverables adhere to GDS principles, accessibility standards, and government frameworks. Support service assessments and contribute to meeting compliance requirements.
β’ Collaboration with Delivery Teams: Work alongside product owners, architects, and developers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly. Assist in backlog refinement and prioritisation activities.
β’ Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to BA practices and tools. Stay informed about emerging trends in business analysis and public sector delivery.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale programmes, ideally within the public sector.
Required Skills
β’ Strong understanding of GDS standards and service design principles.
β’ Experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
β’ Proficiency in process modelling and analysis techniques.
β’ Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
β’ Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience in debt recovery or financial services environments.
β’ Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR) and compliance frameworks.
β’ Exposure to tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
β’ Previous experience in government or large enterprise transformation programmes.
Pay range and compensation package
12 month Fixed Term Contract - Salaried, not day rate
