Role description
Metropolitan Police, one of our largest public sector clients based in London are looking to recruit a Business Analyst on a 12-month contract to join their Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) team.
This is a unique opportunity to support Royal Residential Protection by helping senior leaders understand operational demand and performance. Your analysis will directly inform how resources are allocated, ensuring the right officers are in the right place at the right time.
Location: Mainly based at Buckingham Palace with occasional UK travel to Windsor and Scotland (travel, accommodation and food cost will be all be covered/expensed)
Pay rate: £337 per day via PAYE or £440 per day via Umbrella (inside of IR35)
Working Pattern: Full time, blended working (minimum 4 days in the office per week and 1 day from home)
What You’ll Be Doing
• Creating performance dashboards using Excel and Tableau to present data in clear, visual formats.
• Analysing demand and performance across teams to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Supporting performance meetings, including preparing documentation and tracking actions.
• Writing concise reports that highlight key insights for senior leadership.
• Translating complex data into simple, actionable information for decision-makers.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant data, ensuring GDPR standards are met.
• Collaborating with internal teams to improve data sharing and usage.
• Supporting RaSP events across the UK when required.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
• A degree in data analysis would be desirable but not essential
• Proven experience in performance analysis
Skills & Experience:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret both numerical and qualitative data
• Confident presenting findings to senior stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills (including formulas, Power Query, and data cleaning)
• Experience using Tableau for data visualisation
• Skilled in report writing and trend analysis
• Highly organised, with experience managing meetings and tracking actions
• Willingness to travel across London and the UK as needed
• Awareness of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) and confidence discussing related themes
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail
Additional Information
• You’ll be required to sign a confidentiality agreement due to the sensitive nature of the role.
• This is a blended working role, with a minimum of four days per week in the office, and flexibility depending on operational needs.
• The successful candidate will need to go through and obtain Security Clearance (will be fast tracked) if they do not have a valid one already.
