Role description
Business Analyst (Systems-Focused) Contract | Remote | UK Public Sector Project Ceox Services are seeking a Business Analyst with strong, systems-focused analytical skills to support a major UK Government programme. You will work as part of our delivery team to define requirements for a new government system, mapping how existing technologies operate today and shaping a scalable future-state solution. This will involve assessing current processes, identifying integration needs, and producing clear end-to-end requirements to support onward design and delivery. Who Weโ€™re Looking For We are looking for an experienced analyst who can work confidently across multiple system landscapes and translate complex technical analysis into clear, actionable requirements. You will contribute to business process design, systems mapping, integration planning, and stakeholder engagement across a public sector environment. You should be able to: โ€ข Analyse legacy and disparate systems to understand data flow, processes, and constraints โ€ข Identify platform touchpoints, integration needs, and future-state opportunities โ€ข Capture, define, and document functional and non-functional requirements โ€ข Collaborate with stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical SMEs โ€ข Present findings clearly to support decision-making and programme planning Key Responsibilities โ€ข Analyse current application systems, workflows, and related processes. โ€ข Assess existing disparate systems to identify integration gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for consolidation. โ€ข Gather, refine, and document functional & non-functional requirements. โ€ข Engage with business, technical teams, and end users to validate requirements and ensure alignment to the programme objectives. โ€ข Produce structured documentation such as process flows, data models, use cases, interface requirements, and user stories. โ€ข Support vendor evaluation and procurement activities where required. โ€ข Contribute to integration design, system architecture discussions, and data migration planning. โ€ข Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary delivery teams. Mandatory Skills & Experience โ€ข Strong Systems Integration Analysis Experience โ€ข Proven ability to assess and design how multiple systems can interface, including data flows, mappings, API/connection requirements. โ€ข Business Analysis Expertise โ€ข Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and creating clear, structured documentation. โ€ข Stakeholder Engagement โ€ข Able to communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including SMEs and senior decision-makers. Desirable Skills & Experience โ€ข Experience in grant management, grant administration processes, or similar workflow-driven systems. โ€ข Prior experience working with a UK Government department or public sector organisation. โ€ข Understanding of Public Sector procurement, governance, and compliance frameworks. โ€ข Ability to define reporting/data requirements and contribute to dashboards or analytics solutions.
