Role description
Position Overview
The Business Analyst will play a critical role within the Risk organization, partnering closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to drive key initiatives across Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Enterprise Risk functions. This individual will support end-to-end project delivery, from requirements gathering through deployment, while ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong risk-domain experience, hands-on Agile project execution, and a proven track record supporting regulatory or risk transformation programs within leading financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary liaison between Risk business stakeholders and Technology teams.
• Conduct detailed stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis to gather and validate business requirements.
• Document business, functional, and non-functional requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
• Analyze current-state business processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, or risk mitigation.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and Agile ceremonies.
• Support end-to-end project lifecycle including UAT test case creation, execution, issue tracking, and production rollout.
• Collaborate with QA, PMO, and technical leads to ensure deliverables meet business expectations.
• Create process maps, data flow diagrams, business rules, and decision flows as needed.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory expectations and internal risk governance standards.
Required Qualifications
The BA must have ALL of the following:
• Direct experience in Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Enterprise Risk within a leading global bank or financial institution.
• Full project lifecycle experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager—requirements, build, testing, and implementation.
• Hands-on experience executing projects using Agile methodology, including writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and participating in Agile ceremonies.
Additional Skills & Experience
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
• Experience with process mapping, data analysis, and business workflow documentation.
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Visio, and/or Tableau.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across business and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Business Analyst certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.
Nice to Have
• Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, or risk transformation initiatives (e.g., Basel, CCAR, FRTB, Audit findings).
• Understanding of risk data, data quality controls, or risk reporting processes.
• Knowledge of financial products: derivatives, FX, fixed income, and lending products.
