Business Analyst/ Data Analyst (Commercial Banking)

Job Title: Business Data Analyst Location: Charlotte, NC What’s the Job? We are seeking a Business Analyst / Data Analyst to support initiatives within the Commercial Banking line of business. This role will focus on data analysis, data mapping, data quality, and API integration , working closely with business, technology, and Agile delivery teams. The ideal candidate brings hands ‑ on analytical experience , strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of commercial banking products and processes . Key Responsibilities • Perform data analysis to support Commercial Banking initiatives, including identifying trends, gaps, and data quality issues. • Create and maintain data mapping documentation (source ‑ to ‑ target mappings) across systems. • Analyze and remediate data quality issues , partnering with technology and data teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. • Support and document REST API integrations , including understanding request/response payloads and data flows. • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements . • Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Agile teams. • Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand ‑ ups, reviews). • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, QA, and data teams to ensure end ‑ to ‑ end delivery. • Support testing efforts including data validation, UAT support, and issue resolution. • Maintain clear documentation to support traceability and regulatory expectations. Required Skills & Experience Must ‑ Haves • Commercial Banking experience (required) • Strong Business Analysis and Data Analysis experience • Hands ‑ on experience with: • Data analysis • Data mapping (source ‑ to ‑ target) • Data quality assessment and remediation • REST APIs • Experience working in Agile environments • Ability to translate complex data and system concepts into clear business requirements • Strong analytical, problem ‑ solving, and documentation skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Nice ‑ to ‑ Have Skills • Experience supporting Commercial Banking systems or platforms • Familiarity with SQL or querying tools • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, or reporting • Exposure to regulatory or risk ‑ related data requirements Ideal Candidate Profile • A hands ‑ on BA/DA who can work comfortably with data • Strong Commercial Banking domain knowledge • Detail ‑ oriented and highly organized • Comfortable bridging business and technology teams • Able to work onsite in Charlotte and engage closely with stakeholders If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
