Business Analyst - Data Governance -Atlan/Alation/Collibra

Title: Business Analyst Location: New York, NY(Hybrid). Long Term Contract Start: ASAP We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst (BA) to support a Data Governance project implementation for a leading financial client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience gathering requirements, designing workflows, and supporting solution implementation for Data Governance platforms. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and excellent communication are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements for Data Governance initiatives. • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, process flows, and solution specifications. • Work closely with the Implementation Lead and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle. • Support configuration, testing, and rollout of the Data Governance platform. • Conduct gap analysis and propose process improvements aligned with organizational data governance policies. • Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT). • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively to both business and IT stakeholders. • Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data projects. Hands-on experience with at least one of the following platforms: • Atlan • Alation • Collibra • Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog concepts. • Excellent documentation, analytical, and presentation skills. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. • Experience in the financial services industry highly preferred. • Ability to work 3–4 days onsite in the New York City office.
