Job Title: IT Business Analyst
Location: Farmers Branch, TX (Tuesday - Thursday On-site)
Duration: Contract to hire
Position Summary
The IT Business Analyst identifies opportunities to improve systems and processes, translating business requirements into technical deliverables while aligning priorities with business and technology teams to ensure successful project delivery. This role collaborates with stakeholders to refine IT objectives, gather requirements, and drive alignment between business goals and technology solutions.
Additionally, this position supports projects and initiatives by analyzing business requirements, identifying technology needs, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, the IT Business Analyst ensures technology solutions effectively meet business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to define and articulate information, process needs, and challenges.
β’ Translate business needs into functional specifications and technical requirements, including process flows, business cases, feature lists, use cases, and templates.
β’ Conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.
β’ Elicit and analyze project requirements through interviews, workshops, and data analysis; conduct ongoing and ad hoc data and process analyses.
β’ Assist in testing and validation activities to ensure business objectives are achieved.
β’ Partner with leadership to establish and document technology requirements.
β’ Manage product backlogs in Azure DevOps or similar platforms, including building user stories and participating in agile scrum meetings.
β’ Coordinate and audit user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed.
β’ Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis processes and practices.
β’ Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
β’ Develop domain knowledge of business operations and objectives.
β’ Model Values, Operating Principles, ethical standards, and code of conduct.
β’ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
β’ Equivalent combination of education and experience (with a High School Diploma/GED) may be considered.
Experience:
β’ 3+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
β’ 3+ years of experience gathering and translating business process needs, including requirements elicitation, backlog management, process flows, feature lists, use cases, and user stories.
β’ 3+ years of experience with data analysis, including basic SQL, data validation, and troubleshooting.
β’ Experience working in an agile/scrum environment with solution design teams preferred.
Skills & Abilities
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to develop creative solutions to complex business problems.
β’ Proven ability to analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
