Job Title: Business Analyst – Fraud
Location: Northampton (Hybrid)
Contract: 6 Months (Inside IR35)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Fraud domain expertise to join a leading banking client. The successful candidate will work closely with Fraud Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Business stakeholders to deliver fraud prevention and detection initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong banking experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and experience working in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to Fraud Detection and Fraud Prevention solutions.
• Work with Fraud Operations, Product Owners, SMEs, and Technology teams to define business and functional requirements.
• Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications (FSDs), User Stories, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and business process modelling.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC.
• Support UAT planning, execution, defect management, and business sign-off.
• Analyse fraud trends and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement walkthroughs.
• Work within Agile Scrum teams and participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Mandatory Skills
• 6+ years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.
• Strong experience in Fraud Management, Fraud Operations, or Financial Crime projects.
• Experience with fraud detection and prevention systems.
• Strong knowledge of card fraud, payment fraud, digital banking fraud, AML, or transaction monitoring.
• Excellent requirement gathering and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience writing User Stories, BRDs, FRDs, Use Cases, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of SQL for data analysis is desirable.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with fraud platforms such as:
• FICO Falcon
• NICE Actimize
• SAS Fraud Management
• Featurespace
• Quantexa
• Knowledge of Open Banking and Faster Payments.
• Understanding of PSD2, FCA regulations, and financial crime frameworks.
• Exposure to data analysis using SQL or Power BI.
• Experience working on digital banking transformation programmes.
