Business Analyst – Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll & Benefits
Contract: 6 months
Start: ASAP
Day Rate: Inside IR35 (TBC – likely around £400/day)
Location: Crawley — 3 days per week onsite
Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Fusion Functional Business Analyst (Payroll & Benefits) to support the delivery and optimisation of Oracle Fusion HCM for one of the UK’s major airline customers.
In this role, you will act as the functional lead responsible for reviewing, assessing, and enhancing existing Payroll and Benefits processes within Oracle Fusion HCM. You will drive best‑practice design, ensure process resilience, and enable scalable business operations aligned with statutory requirements and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Review & Best‑Practice Design
• Conduct detailed assessments of current Payroll and Benefits processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, compliance risks, and failure points.
• Lead workshops with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to define AS‑IS and develop TO‑BE processes.
• Recommend improvements that simplify, standardise, and automate processes using Oracle Fusion best practices.
Business Analysis & Functional Leadership
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for design, configuration, testing, and operations.
• Perform fit‑gap analysis to ensure alignment with Fusion capabilities and advise on alternatives to customisation.
• Produce high‑quality documentation including BRDs, FSDs, process flows, use cases, and decision logs.
Payroll Expertise
• Provide hands‑on functional knowledge across payroll operations: pre‑payroll validations, payroll run, costing, retro‑processing, reconciliation, and statutory checks.
• Interpret results involving elements, balances, eligibility rules, costing, and Fast Formula logic (no technical config required).
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation and support quarterly Fusion updates.
Benefits Expertise
• Review and improve Benefit plans, eligibility rules, life events, enrolment processes, and payroll integration points.
• Support Open Enrollment and life‑event changes, ensuring all dependencies are well‑managed and risks identified.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change
• Act as a trusted advisor across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams.
• Support process governance, escalation management, and operational alignment.
• Help stakeholders make informed decisions and prepare for process changes.
Testing, Quality & Controls
• Support UAT cycles, validating end‑to‑end business scenarios and statutory requirements.
• Evaluate quarterly release impacts and advise on required updates or process changes.
Skills & Experience Required
• Strong functional expertise in Oracle Fusion Payroll, Benefits, and Core HR.
• Proven experience in business process mapping, AS‑IS/TO‑BE modelling, and fit‑gap analysis.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide long‑term process decisions.
• Familiarity with OTBI / BI Publisher for validation and insights.
• Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
