Role description
Business Analyst (Data Program) On-Site (Kansas City, MO) Contract – Hire The Technology Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in a data transformation journey. This role focuses on bridging the gap between business priorities and technical implementation across data platforms, pipelines, and governance solutions. Partnering with Product Owners and delivery teams, the analyst will refine business stories into actionable technical requirements, enabling delivery of high-value, scalable data products. The position requires exceptional communication, technical fluency, and the ability to navigate complex business and IT landscapes to create alignment across stakeholders. Description: β€’ Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams, translating concepts into language that is easily understood by both parties. β€’ Develop a fundamental understanding of your team’s technical systems and your business stakeholders’ processes. β€’ Elicit user and technical requirements for new initiatives and ad hoc requests from multiple internal business practices. β€’ Refine business requirements into detailed technical requirements and acceptance criteria for data pipelines, platform capabilities, and governance tooling. β€’ Collaborate with architects and engineers to align requirements with platform standards, data mesh principles, and compliance needs. β€’ Support the design of CI/CD pipelines, observability practices, and data transformation workflows. β€’ Ensure requirements support data-as-a-product and platform-as-a-product principles (scalability, reusability, security, compliance). β€’ Ensure projects stay on track toward deliverable commitments, occasionally completing trade-off analysis to influence product decisions. β€’ Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively. Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree β€’ Minimum 4 years of technical business analysis experience β€’ Knowledge of agile development methodologies and practices β€’ Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence or other agile tools is a plus β€’ Ability to write technical acceptance criteria and partner closely with both product owners and engineers β€’ Familiarity with data platforms, data governance, and modern data stack tools such as GCP, Confluent, Kafka, and Apigee β€’ Excellent oral and written communication skills β€’ Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Disclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
