Business Analyst

DIRECT applicants only - No 3rd party or C2C inquiries please Overview: We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Business Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting software development initiatives within a research-focused product development group. This role will be instrumental in driving agile delivery, refining requirements, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with product owners and subject matter experts to define user stories, estimate effort, and manage backlog items. • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder check-ins. • Maintain and update project documentation including burn-up charts, timelines, and risk assessments. • Conduct business process mapping using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Mural, or Microsoft Whiteboard. • Create wireframes and mockups using platforms like Lucidchart, Balsamiq, or Figma. • Develop detailed functional and non-functional requirements, including business rules and system dependencies. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve blockers and ensure timely delivery. • Design and execute test cases to validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. • Utilize SQL for data validation and test result analysis. • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst • Proficiency in backlog management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps • Experience with collaboration platforms including Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams • Wireframing experience using Balsamiq, Lucidchart, Figma, or Sketch • Basic SQL skills for querying and data validation • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite • Expertise in process mapping tools (Visio or Lucidchart preferred) • Excellent interpersonal, documentation, and decision-making skills
