Role description
Join the ECI Group's Houston Professional Technical Services Network is searching for proven Business Analyst (or Engineer) in data-driven projects, preferably in maritime, logistics, or energy sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in understanding business requirements, quickly learning the data models of RADAR, GMAS, and BOSS, and building queries that prove business requirements before the engineering team starts developing the data products.
As a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst (or Engineer) you will support our client's Vessel Performance Dashboard (VPD) project. This individual will be crucial in bridging business requirements with technical implementation, ensuring that the dashboard delivers actionable insights to optimize vessel operations across the LNG and Products fleets.
Note: This is a full-time contract role located in our client's offices in Houston scheduled to start on Nov 24, 2025 and end on or around Jan 31, 2026.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and document detailed business requirements for vessel performance metrics.
Comparative Analysis: Analyze and benchmark requirements against existing LNG business implementations to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Data Mapping: Map and align data models across systems (RADAR, GMAS, BOSS) to ensure data consistency and integrity.
Data Product Development: Design and build cross-system queries to generate data products that meet business needs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the liaison between business users, data engineers, and developers to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance: Validate data outputs and ensure the dashboard meets performance, accuracy, and usability standards.

Qualifications and Required Skills:
β’ Proven experience as a Business Analyst in data-driven projects, preferably in maritime, logistics, or energy sectors
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling and system integration across platforms such as RADAR, GMAS, and BOSS
β’ Proficiency in SQL or similar query languages for building data product designs (to hand over to engineers for tuning/implementation)
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
β’ Ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
β’ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
β’ Familiarity with vessel operations, performance metrics, or LNG/product fleet management is a plus
