Role description
Business Analyst Fully Remote Long-Term Contract $/hr. Depending on Experience The Commercial Business Solutions team at one of our largest Fortune 200 Energy Generation clients is executing on a gas platform optimization initiative (GPO) and is seeking a Business Analyst. The project is undergoing a reset and re-plan as part of a broader Retail Natural Gas transformation, including the implementation of nGenue and the rollout of a new front, mid, and back-office delivery model. This program is focused on improving platform efficiency, strengthening delivery standards, and re-establishing clear ownership across business, product, and technology teams. The Business Analyst will support the Gas Platform Optimization effort by working directly with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and documentation. This role is critical to closing historical gaps in story quality, acceptance criteria, defect management, and QA support, while partnering closely with our client’s third-party system integrator. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and confident facilitating discussions that turn complex gas business processes into structured delivery artifacts that enable successful build, testing, training, and adoption. Requirements: β€’ 5+ years of professional Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise technology programs β€’ Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Microsoft tools for backlog, documentation, and reporting β€’ Knowledge of Retail Energy, with a strong emphasis on Natural Gas, and at least 5 years of relevant BA experience in this domain β€’ Professional experience with: 1- Requirement elicitation and documentation 2- Epic, feature, and story-level development 3- Acceptance criteria definition 4- Defectt tracking and resolution β€’ Hands-on QA testing experience, including support of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) β€’ Experience working directly with business stakeholders β€’ Practical experience working in Agile delivery environments β€’ Ability to analyze ambiguous data, identify patterns, and draw logical, strategic conclusions β€’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with IT, facilitating meetings with business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership β€’ Proven ability to manage workload, meet aggressive deadlines, and drive decision-making in a fast-paced environment β€’ Ability to actively participate in change management efforts Bonus Requirements: β€’ Any exposure to nGenue or similar retail energy operations platform. β€’ Prior experience supporting large-scale program resets or re-planning initiatives β€’ Experience working with or alongside large system integration partners or 3rd party vendors. β€’ Familiarity with SAFe or scaled Agile frameworks Your Responsibilities Include: β€’ Serve as a Senior Business Analyst within the GPO program, supporting the reset/re-plan and ongoing execution β€’ Own and deliver high-quality requirements and documentation, including: 1- Business and functional requirements 2- Epics, features, and detailed user stories 3- Clear, testable acceptance criteria at all levels 4- Process flows and supporting artifacts β€’ Lead story development and backlog refinement in close collaboration with Product Owners β€’ Manage and support defect management and QA activities, including UAT preparation, execution, and issue resolution β€’ Work directly with Retail Energy business stakeholders, asking the right questions and translating business needs into actionable requirements β€’ Facilitate stakeholder meetings, working sessions, and cross-functional alignment discussions β€’ Partner effectively with 3rd-party SI while re-establishing accountability and ownership on the client side β€’ Ensure BA standards are consistently applied across teams, addressing prior quality and documentation gaps β€’ Support elements of change management, ensuring requirements and documentation are positioned for downstream training and adoption (build/design largely complete at onboarding) β€’ Collaborate across front, mid, and back-office towers to ensure integrated, end-to-end process understanding What’s in it for you? β€’ A welcoming and collaborative team environment where your work will play a foundational role in how the business discovers and engages with Gas Platform Optimization initiatives across the nation’s largest producer of carbon-free energy β€’ Eight Eleven Group offers Health, Dental, and Vision benefits, weekly pay, holiday paid time off, and sick leave.
