Role description
Business Analyst (Natural Gas Domain) Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support key initiatives within the natural gas domain. This role will focus on capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for gas accounting applications, supporting the expansion and implementation of internally developed systems across multiple assets. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with internal business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of scalable and efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities β€’ Conduct detailed business process analysis and translate business needs into functional and technical requirements β€’ Lead requirements gathering sessions using techniques such as stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and use case development β€’ Perform gap analysis to identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements β€’ Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and data mappings β€’ Utilize tools such as JIRA to support project tracking, backlog management, and workflow configuration β€’ Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test case creation, and defect tracking β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and architecture to ensure alignment with project goals β€’ Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field β€’ 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in a technology-driven environment β€’ Strong experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint β€’ Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) β€’ Experience supporting testing efforts, including UAT coordination and defect management β€’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Required Experience β€’ Direct experience within the natural gas industry is required β€’ Familiarity with natural gas business processes such as contracts, nominations, scheduling, measurement, allocation, billing, or related functions β€’ Exposure to industry standards and protocols (e.g., EDI, NAESB, FERC) is a plus Work Environment β€’ On-site, full-time role β€’ Collaborative team environment working with both business and technical stakeholders
