π§© Role Overview
The VDH Business Analyst 3 role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support the design, development, and optimization of custom financial systems.
This position acts as a bridge between Finance and Technology, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into system-driven solutions that enhance financial reporting, planning, and operations.
π§ Key Responsibilities
β’ Gather, analyze, and document business requirements with finance stakeholders
β’ Translate requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
β’ Collaborate with developers, architects, and QA teams across the SDLC
β’ Analyze financial processes and identify automation and efficiency improvements
β’ Support financial modules such as GL, AP/AR, budgeting, grants, forecasting
β’ Perform data validation, analysis, and reconciliation
β’ Lead and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
β’ Create user documentation, training materials, and provide support
β’ Assist with system integrations (ERP, CRM, Data Warehouses)
β’ Ensure compliance with financial regulations, controls, and audit requirements

Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
β’ 5β7+ years as a Business Analyst in financial systems
β’ Strong knowledge of:
β’ General Ledger
β’ Financial Reporting
β’ Budgeting
β’ Experience with custom/configurable financial systems
β’ Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Visio
β’ Familiarity with SDLC and Agile (Scrum/Sprint)
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
β’ Ability to convert complex financial rules into technical requirements
β Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Financials or similar)
β’ Knowledge of financial data modeling & database structures
β’ Understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance
β’ Exposure to APIs, ETL tools, and financial integrations
β’ Experience in government/public sector environments
