Role description
Business Analyst β Greenfield Data Transformation
Location: Hybrid β London (3 days onsite) Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Salary/Rate: Competitive (Based on experience) Start Date: ASAP
The Company & Project
We are exclusively partnering with a globally recognized, multi-national retail and hospitality brand undergoing the largest single investment in their data function in the companyβs history.
They are kicking off a critical, highly visible 9-month program to entirely reset their data landscape. Moving away from fragmented, legacy SQL and point-to-point integrations, they are building a brand new, scalable Data Hub built on Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Azure, and PowerBI.
This is a breakneck-speed, high-stakes project with direct C-Suite and Board-level sponsorship. Every hire is critical, and we are currently urgently resourcing for 4-5 Business Analysts to lead the discovery phase and set the technical direction for the engineering teams.
The Role
As a Data Project Business Analyst, you are the linchpin of this transformation. The engineering and QA teams cannot build or test without your specifications. You will be operating in a fast-paced, Agile environment (weekly sprints) to define and structure the requirements for this new medallion architecture data platform.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Requirements Gathering & Specification: Deep-dive into the business to understand current legacy processes and translate ambiguous needs into crystal-clear technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
β’ Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between technical delivery teams and non-technical stakeholders (Finance, Ops). You must be able to extract the right information from individuals who may not know exactly how to articulate their data needs.
β’ Agile Delivery: Work hand-in-hand with Data Engineers, Integration Specialists, and Project Managers to ensure continuous, high-velocity delivery.
β’ Platform Transition: Support the business in migrating from legacy reporting and undocumented processes to a "single source of truth" modern data stack.
What Weβre Looking For
β’ "Doers, Not Talkers": This is a hands-on, delivery-focused environment. We need action-oriented individuals who are comfortable rolling up their sleeves rather than just building slide decks.
β’ Fast-Paced Pedigree: You thrive in high-velocity, tight-deadline environments. Experience in fast-scaling, agile environments is preferred over slow-moving, red-tape-heavy corporate backgrounds.
β’ Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: You have a proven track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships and navigating competing priorities.
β’ Data Literacy: While you don't need to be a coder, a strong conceptual understanding of modern data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, APIs, BI tools) and how data flows through a business is essential.
β’ Right to Work: Must have full UK right to work without requiring sponsorship, due to the urgency of the project.
Why Apply?
β’ Board-Level Visibility: Your work will directly impact the strategic, profit-driving decisions of a multi-billion-pound global brand.
β’ Greenfield Build: Shape a massive modernization project from the ground upβbuild it, run it, and leave a lasting legacy.
β’ Fast Feedback Loop: The client is committed to an ultra-fast interview process with 48-hour CV feedback and definitive decisions made quickly.
