Role description
Job Title: Business Analyst (HealthCare with ETL Development, WhereScape, IICS and Databricks) Location: 100% Remote Duration: Contract (12+ months) Job Summary: Seeking a highly skilled HEDIS Data Analyst with deep expertise in HEDIS measure analytics, healthcare data ecosystems, and hands-on SQL development. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience analyzing year-over-year HEDIS measure changes and identifying root causes by evaluating specification updates, value set changes, coding impacts, and data availability factors. This position requires a hands-on contributor who can independently research healthcare datasets, evaluate data quality gaps, influence measure logic, and communicate findings and recommendations effectively to business stakeholders and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities: Analyze year-over-year HEDIS measure performance and identify drivers impacting measure changes. Separate and quantify impacts related to specification updates, value set modifications, coding changes, and data availability differences. Research and investigate healthcare data gaps across multiple data domains. Assess impact of proposed data additions and estimate effort required for implementation. Work with healthcare data sources including medical claims, pharmacy data, provider data, and medical record datasets. Perform ad hoc research and analysis on vendor files and healthcare datasets. Create documentation for findings, business logic, and enhancement recommendations. Contribute to and influence HEDIS specifications, calculation logic, and reporting methodologies. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis. Present findings, root cause analyses, and actionable recommendations to business partners and leadership teams. Collaborate cross-functionally with business, data, and healthcare operations teams. Required Qualifications: Strong experience analyzing year over year HEDIS measure changes by separating spec, value set, code, and data availability impacts—not just rate differences. Deep understanding of HEDIS related data (medical, pharmacy, provider, medical records) and ability to research gaps, propose data additions, assess impact, and estimate effort. Proven ability to explain measure changes and root causes to business and leadership, including quantifying drivers and recommending actionable improvements. Hands on contributor involved in creating or influencing specs and data logic, capable of ad hoc vendor file research, documentation, and proposing enhancements (not just running canned reports). Strong Hands-on SQL writing experience
