Role description
Description
• Immerse yourself in the workflows of clinical staff, administrators, and compliance teams to understand how data-driven insights can improve daily operations, accelerate decision-making, and enhance care delivery across thousands of healthcare communities
• Partner with domain experts across clinical, billing, operations, and compliance to design analytics solutions that don't just replicate existing reports but fundamentally improve how our users execute their jobs through actionable insights and intuitive data experiences
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to extract deep domain knowledge and translate it into analytics products that anticipate user needs, surface critical patterns, and enable proactive intervention in care delivery
• Design and build enterprise BI semantic models connected to Snowflake data warehouse that serve as the foundation for data-driven products delivering real-time insights to frontline caregivers, clinical teams, and facility administrators
• Develop interactive dashboards and analytics experiences that transform how users interact with data—moving beyond static reporting to create intuitive, self-service tools that empower users to explore, understand, and act on insights specific to their domain
• Architect calculated logic and measures using Power BI or equivalent platforms (Tableau, Metabase, Luzmo, etc.) that surface meaningful patterns, flag exceptions requiring attention, and provide predictive indicators that improve operational and clinical outcomes
• Champion a user-centric analytics philosophy by conducting validation sessions, gathering feedback, and iterating on solutions to ensure dashboards don't just display data but genuinely enhance job execution and decision quality
• Document analytics specifications, data definitions, and business rules that capture the deep domain logic embedded in senior living operations, ensuring solutions are maintainable and knowledge is transferable
• Support the evolution of Residex's analytics platform by identifying opportunities to embed intelligence, automation, and predictive capabilities into data-friendly applications that serve our users' evolving needs
• Drive data governance initiatives including defining meaningful metrics, establishing data quality standards, and ensuring consistency across analytics products that thousands of users depend on daily
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise BI solutions including semantic model design, dashboard development, and analytics optimization using Power BI or equivalent platforms (Tableau, Metabase, Luzmo, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to go beyond traditional business analysis and truly understand user domains—translating operational workflows, clinical processes, and business challenges into analytics products that improve how people do their jobs
• Strong SQL skills for querying cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and designing data models that support both reporting accuracy and analytical exploration
• Experience designing analytics solutions that serve diverse user personas with varying technical sophistication, from CNAs and nurses to administrators and executives
• Proven track record collaborating with subject matter experts to extract domain knowledge and create intuitive, actionable insights rather than just replicating existing reports
• Healthcare or senior living industry experience strongly preferred; familiarity with EHR systems, clinical workflows, regulatory compliance requirements, medication administration, care planning, and operational challenges in senior care delivery
• Understanding of how data-driven products can enhance operational execution including alerting, exception management, trend analysis, and predictive insights that enable proactive decision-making
• Strong documentation and knowledge transfer skills to capture the "why" behind analytics design decisions and preserve domain logic for future team members
• Excellent communication skills with ability to advocate for user needs, explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and build consensus around analytics priorities
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure analytics products meet the accuracy standards required in healthcare environments
• Understanding of BI best practices including semantic layer design, report performance optimization, data governance, and enterprise deployment patterns
• Experience with legacy reporting system migrations (SSRS, Crystal Reports, or similar) to modern BI platforms is a plus
• Comfortable working independently while coordinating with distributed teams and adapting to evolving priorities as analytics capabilities mature
