Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Interview Process: 2 Rounds (Virtual)
Rate:$48/hr on w2 and $58/hr on c2c
Visa: USC and GC due to legal or government contract
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst with strong Fiserv payment processing expertise to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on processor data. This role will focus on interpreting Fiserv data structures, mapping source data to business logic, and translating complex payment transaction flows into clear functional requirements and implementation-ready specifications.
You will work closely with Data Architects, Solution Leads, and stakeholders to ensure accurate understanding and transformation of processor data into meaningful business insights and reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the primary SME for Fiserv payment processor data, including field-level interpretation and business meaning
• Analyze and document source-to-target mappings, data transformations, and business rules
• Interpret transaction lifecycle events such as authorizations, settlements, declines, reversals, and adjustments
• Define and document business rules, code translations, and field usage guidelines
• Collaborate with Data Architects to translate Fiserv data into canonical models and semantic layers
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in data fields and processor logic
• Define KPIs and reporting logic, including filters, assumptions, and edge cases
• Facilitate discussions with business and technical teams to clarify data usage and reporting needs
• Support UAT, validation, and issue triage, identifying root causes across data, logic, or implementation
• Maintain traceability between requirements, mappings, transformations, and outputs
• Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and knowledge transfer
Required Skills & Experience
• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Payments/FinTech domain
• Strong hands-on expertise with Fiserv payment processor data (mandatory)
• Deep understanding of payment processing lifecycle and transaction flows
• Experience with data mapping, data modeling, and business rules documentation
• Ability to interpret complex data fields, coded values, and transaction attributes
• Experience working with KPIs, reporting logic, and data analytics
• Strong experience with UAT, stakeholder communication, and requirement traceability
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have
• Experience working with Visa or other payment networks
• Exposure to data architecture or semantic modeling concepts
• Prior experience in large-scale data transformation or migration projects
