Role description
A rapidly growing media company is currently seeking a skilled Privacy Business and Operations Analyst to join their Product team. This role supports the execution of enterprise privacy and compliance initiatives by bridging business, legal, and technology functions. The analyst will help operationalize privacy requirements, streamline workflows, and enhance the company's data governance and compliance capabilities. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this position ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and drives continuous improvement in privacy operations and compliance programs.
About the Opportunity:
• Setting: Hybrid (commutable to NYC office 2-3x per month)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
• Translate business objectives and regulatory requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications to support enterprise compliance initiatives.
• Assist in drafting, implementing, and maintaining privacy policies, procedures, and documentation in partnership with Legal and Compliance teams.
• Collaborate with business, legal, and technology stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize privacy and compliance workflows.
• Provide guidance on privacy considerations for new projects, product launches, and third-party vendor engagements.
• Monitor and maintain privacy systems, including issue triage, user access management, and coordination of vendor support activities.
• Develop and manage dashboards, metrics, and reports to measure compliance performance and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to system design, testing, and validation efforts, ensuring compliance-by-design principles are embedded throughout.
• Identify and facilitate process improvements to strengthen governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Support the creation and delivery of training materials, documentation, and stakeholder communications to promote privacy awareness across the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional projects related to privacy, data governance, and security to advance compliance maturity and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, or privacy operations.
• Working knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and related industry best practices.
• Experience using compliance or privacy management platforms and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational gaps, assess risks, and recommend effective solutions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, as required.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Privacy Technology and SaaS platforms
• An understanding of business processes and relevant industry-specific regulations
• Experience in data analysis, metrics reporting, and dashboard development
