Role description
Description:
• The Electro-Mechanical Strategic Sourcing team operates within a complex PLM environment where GCM assignment to change orders is the critical first step in the ECO workflow.
• With 12,000+ components across 12 categories and 600+ suppliers, correct and timely assignment of Strategic Sourcing Managers determines whether supply chain impact is assessed, cost implications are identified, and approvals are routed to the appropriate owner.
• This Analyst focuses on PLM system operations, managing the GCM assignment process, improving the routing algorithm, and supporting ECO processing performance and the transition from Agile PLM to Team Center.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the GCM Assignment Group function within PLM, ensuring appropriate Strategic Sourcing Managers are added to ECOs as approvers during Tech Review based on the category x program x supplier ownership matrix
• Review affected items on each ECO and route to correct GCMs, enabling early visibility into supply chain impacts including cost, GoG implications, and lead time risks
• Analyze current assignment algorithm performance and develop improvements incorporating rules for new programs, supplier changes, and category restructuring
• Create structured data sets documenting assignment decisions and resolution patterns to serve as training data for future AI based auto assignment tool
• Monitor and report on Strategic Sourcing team deliverable performance for ECO processing time, data accuracy, and SLA compliance across all stages
• Support proper integration with the Product Development Process (PDP) ensuring supply chain touchpoints are embedded at the right stages
• Support creation of training tools for the Supply Chain Organization and serve as supporting staff for testing the Agile to Team Center transition
Required skills:
• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain operations, PLM administration, or systems focused roles in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Hands on experience with PLM systems (Agile, Teamcenter, Windchill, or equivalent) including workflow management and user administration
• Understanding of engineering change management processes (ECO, DECO, MCO) and their relationship to supply chain operations
• Experience with data analysis and process improvement, including ability to define and track operational KPIs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent)
• Experience developing training materials, SOPs, or process documentation for technical workflows
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify patterns in assignment decisions and translate them into systematic rules
Preferred skills:
• Experience with Agile PLM specifically, including workflow configuration, change order routing, and assignment group management
• Experience in PLM to PLM migration projects, particularly Agile to Teamcenter transitions
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to process automation, particularly classification and routing algorithms
• Knowledge of BOM structures, part lifecycle stages (Prototype, Planning, Pilot, Production), and their implications for supply chain
• Experience with ERP integration including data flows between PLM, ERP, and demand planning systems
• Experience with process mining or workflow analytics tools to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
