Role description
Position: Business Analyst (Consultant) Location: Broadway, New York – hybrid - 3 days on site Duration: Contract Rate: DOE The Systems Business Analyst (Consultant) supports enterprise technology initiatives by bridging business needs, product execution, and technical delivery. This role partners with business stakeholders, Product Teams, engineering teams, vendors, and implementation partners to analyze processes, define requirements, coordinate delivery activities, and ensure solutions meet operational objectives. The consultant will support discovery, backlog management, solution definition, system integrations, Agile execution, testing, and deployment readiness across complex Legal, Safety, and Risk platforms. This role requires strong business analysis skills, technical understanding, and the ability to bring structure, transparency, and alignment across cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Teams, IT, vendors, and implementation partners to support delivery of enterprise technology solutions. • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to understand business objectives, operational needs, and system requirements. • Perform end-to-end business analysis including current-state assessments, future-state design, gap analysis, process optimization, and workflow documentation. • Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and integration specifications. • Support product orchestration activities by coordinating priorities, dependencies, risks, milestones, and deliverables across multiple workstreams. • Maintain and refine product backlogs, ensuring JIRA items are structured, prioritized, traceable, and aligned with delivery objectives. • Partner with development teams throughout the SDLC to clarify requirements, support implementation, validate solutions, and ensure business readiness. • Analyze system integrations, data flows, interfaces, and dependencies across enterprise applications, APIs, SFTP, middleware, and batch processes. • Work with architects and engineers to support scalable application designs, integrations, security models, and technical solution alignment. • Develop process flows, system diagrams, integration workflows, and solution documentation using tools such as Visio, Miro, and Lucidchart. • Support Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, release planning, retrospectives, and delivery tracking. • Coordinate testing activities including SIT/UAT planning, test case development, defect triage, validation, and business acceptance. • Perform SQL-based analysis, data validation, root cause investigation, and troubleshooting to support system enhancements and issue resolution. • Support vendor coordination by tracking deliverables, reviewing documentation, managing action items, and ensuring alignment with business and technical expectations. • Prepare project documentation, meeting materials, decision logs, executive summaries, and status reporting. • Identify risks, dependencies, blockers, and process improvement opportunities while supporting timely resolution.
