Role description
Business Analyst – Communications Surveillance Technology
We’re working with a global financial services organisation undergoing a major technology transformation across its communications surveillance estate and they are looking for a Business Analyst to join them
The Role
You’ll support three key workstreams:
• Migration of e-communications data into AWS
• Data retention, purge and legal hold processes
• Case management and regulatory risk reduction
You’ll act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, risks are understood, and solutions deliver real value.
The environment covers a wide range of communication channels including (but not limited to): Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, Teams, Slack, Symphony, Skype, SMS, WhatsApp and WeChat.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead requirements gathering, validation and documentation across data integration, data retention and legal hold initiatives
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology
• Work closely with DataOps and engineering teams to design secure, scalable data solutions
• Translate business needs into clear technical deliverables
• Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements aligned with industry best practice
• Perform impact assessments, feasibility analysis and risk reviews
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
• Stay up to date with regulatory and technology developments in communications surveillance
Essential Experience
• Strong experience with business communications technologies (e.g. Bloomberg, ICE, Teams, WhatsApp for Business, Cloud9, BT Turrets, mobile voice, etc.)
• Proven background delivering data-driven projects (data integration, case management, data lifecycle management)
• Solid experience working with DataOps and technical delivery teams
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies (JIRA preferred)
• Excellent business analysis, process modelling and requirements gathering skills
• • Experience working in regulated financial services environments
• Confident stakeholder manager with strong communication skills
• Proficient with analytics and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
• Passion for data, controls and best-in-class solutions
Desirable
• CBAP, PMI-PBA or similar BA certification
• Knowledge of trading platforms and market operations
