Position Summary
The Business Analyst – Oracle Cloud EPM serves as a critical liaison between Finance and IT, supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of Oracle Cloud EPM solutions. This role combines strong finance domain knowledge with hands-on technical experience, enabling the analyst to operate effectively as both a business-facing partner and a technically savvy contributor. The individual will support EPM implementations, optimization initiatives, and production operations while ensuring solutions align with financial processes, reporting needs, and enterprise IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Functional Analysis
• Partner with Finance stakeholders (FP&A, Accounting, Consolidation, Reporting) to understand business processes, requirements, and pain points.
• Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements for Oracle Cloud EPM modules (e.g., Planning, FCCS, Workforce, Reporting).
• Ability to write, and review, functional requirement documents
• Translate business requirements into clear functional designs, process flows, and user stories suitable for technical implementation.
• Support process redesign and standardization efforts during EPM transformations and cloud implementations.
Oracle Cloud EPM Delivery & Implementation
• Support Oracle Cloud EPM implementations and enhancements across the full lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, and deployment.
• Act as a subject matter expert on EPM functionality from a business user perspective (planning, forecasting, close, reporting) and a functional/technical perspective.
• Assist with configuration reviews, metadata design, dimensional modeling, and validation of application builds.
• Participate in integration design discussions involving upstream/downstream systems (e.g., ERP, HR, data warehouses).
Testing, Validation & Deployment
• Develop and execute test scenarios, test scripts, and UAT plans aligned with finance processes.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with Finance users, ensuring issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved.
• Validate data loads, calculations, aggregations, and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
• Provide ongoing application support for Oracle Cloud EPM, troubleshooting functional and data-related issues.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and planning cycle activities as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve system usability, performance, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
• Assist in documenting standard operating procedures, controls, and audit-ready documentation.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as a trusted point of contact between Finance, IT, and implementation partners.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical business users.
• Help drive adoption through training, documentation, and user support.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role supporting Finance systems.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud EPM, either as a business user, functional analyst, or implementation/support resource.
• Solid understanding of core finance processes, including planning, forecasting, financial close, consolidation, and management reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
