Business Analyst

Job Title : Business Analyst Location : Richmond, VA - (Hybrid) Duration : 12 - 18 Months Approx. Interview : In-Person. Key Responsibilities: Analytical Thinking Review and analyze complex processes and systems, breaking them down into manageable components. Identify root causes of issues, not just symptoms. Technical Proficiency Understand enterprise software systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server). Knowledge of databases (SQL), APIs, and data flow diagrams. Collaborate with technical teams without necessarily performing development tasks 5+ years of BA experience in IT projects required Requirements Gathering Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops. Document clear, testable functional and non-functional requirements. Utilize Azure DevOps (TFS) for managing agile items: product backlog, epics, features, user stories, tasks, test plans, and test cases. Prepare diagrams and wireframes (Visio or similar) to illustrate requirements. Agile / Waterfall Experience Previous experience working in both Agile/Scrum (including SAFe) and Waterfall environments. Communication & Collaboration Translate technical concepts for business users and vice versa. Develop clear documentation and deliver impactful presentations. Handle feedback, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts diplomatically. Testing & Process Improvement Perform system integration testing and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT). Participate in business process modeling using swim lane and flow chart diagrams. Support rollout and user adoption of new systems or processes. Required Skills and Qualifications: 5 Years Agile Business Analyst; strong understanding of Scrum concepts & methodologies 5 Years Experience with Scrum, Agile, Scaled Agile, and Kanban 5 Years Technical experience managing sprint & product backlogs 5 Years Translating business requirements into user stories 5 Years Documenting Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, and execution 5 Years Business and system process documentation Prior State of Virginia IT BA experience
