Role description
Title: Business Analyst With Exp in Life Insurance (Term & Final Expense) Location: Fredrick MD (5 Days onsite) Long Term Contract On C2C Job Description : We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong experience in Life Insurance, specifically Term Life and Final Expense (FE) products. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between Business, Actuarial, and Technology teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into system specifications, and support end‑to‑end policy lifecycle initiatives while enabling digital transformation. Key Responsibilities β€’ Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across underwriting, policy issuance, and servicing workflows β€’ Collaborate with actuarial teams to translate product rules, pricing, and risk factors into system requirements β€’ Work closely with product, engineering, and UX teams to deliver customer-centric digital experiences, act as the bridge between Product, Business, and Technology β€’ Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlogs in JIRA β€’ Maintain clear and structured documentation in Confluence β€’ Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement walkthroughs β€’ Support UAT, validate business scenarios, and ensure alignment with expected outcomes β€’ Identify process improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and reduce cycle time Required Skillset β€’ Strong, hands-on experience with Final Expense (FE) products, including: β€’ Guaranteed eligibility rules, graded benefits, and waiting period logic β€’ Face amount limits, age bands, and underwriting tiers β€’ Premium calculation factors and rate class variations β€’ Application flows, disclosures, and replacement considerations β€’ Guaranteed Issue and Simplified Issue product structures β€’ Solid understanding of Term Life products and underwriting processes β€’ Experience working with actuarial concepts, including mortality assumptions, pricing inputs, and rule implementation β€’ Ability to translate FE product design into system requirements, decision rules, and workflows β€’ Hands-on experience with JIRA (user stories, backlog management) and Confluence (documentation) β€’ Strong expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder management β€’ Experience supporting UAT for FE scenarios, including edge cases (e.g., eligibility exceptions, payment handling, policy activation conditions) β€’ Strong communication skills with ability to simplify complex insurance and actuarial concepts β€’ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong stakeholder collaboration
