Business Analyst – On W2 Location: New York, NY (Hybrid / Onsite as required) Employment Type: W2 About the Role We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong analytical, communication, and process improvement skills to work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams. The ideal candidate will translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and support the delivery of innovative technology solutions aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, clarify, and document requirements (functional and non-functional). • Develop use cases, user stories, process flows, and wireframes to communicate business needs clearly. • Analyze current business processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose optimized workflows. • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation — BRDs, FRDs, RTMs, and user guides. • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives. • Define acceptance criteria and assist with UAT and defect triage activities. • Support the deployment and rollout of solutions, ensuring end-user adoption and operational readiness. • Perform data analysis using SQL or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to support business decisions. • Coordinate with QA teams to ensure all requirements are fully validated and traceable. • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 1+ years of total experience, with 7+ years as a Business Analyst in IT or enterprise application environments. • Strong experience in requirement gathering, documentation, process mapping, and user story creation. • Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology. • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio / Lucidchart, and MS Office Suite. • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and validation. • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments. Preferred / Nice to Have • Experience with Pega, Appian, or BPM applications. • Domain experience in Healthcare, Insurance, or Financial Services. • Familiarity with API / integration concepts and data modeling. • Knowledge of process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma). • Experience in preparing training materials, release notes, and change management documentation.
