Senior Business Analyst 📍 Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid) 💰 Rate: $50–$55/hr on W-2 🚫 No C2C or Third-Party Candidates Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support complex, mission-critical applications with a focus on Newborn Screening (NBS) and Environmental Health systems. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring systems meet operational, regulatory, and data integrity requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, testing (UAT), and data integration, along with demonstrated expertise supporting Newborn Screening programs and Environmental Health workflows and systems. Key Responsibilities • Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders supporting Newborn Screening (NBS) and Environmental Health programs • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including: • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) • Functional specifications • User stories and acceptance criteria • Conduct gap analysis and recommend system and process improvements • Analyze and document end-to-end workflows, including: • Newborn Screening specimen tracking, results reporting, and follow-up processes • Environmental sample collection, chain of custody, testing, and reporting workflows • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements • Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to resolve defects and implement enhancements • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including: • Test plan and script development • Test execution and stakeholder coordination • Support system enhancements, integrations, and ongoing maintenance efforts • Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions • Provide guidance and oversight to other business analysts as needed Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or related field • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related IT roles • Direct experience supporting Newborn Screening (NBS) programs and Environmental Health systems • Extensive experience with requirements elicitation and documentation • Strong background in process mapping and workflow analysis • Experience developing and executing test plans and UAT activities • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills • Experience with Azure DevOps (backlogs, user stories, defect tracking) • Familiarity with data integration standards (e.g., HL7, APIs) • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in complex environments • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with laboratory systems, specimen tracking, or reporting platforms • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in health-related systems • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments Key Skills • Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering • Newborn Screening (NBS) Systems & Workflows • Environmental Health Systems • Process Mapping & Workflow Analysis • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) • Azure DevOps • Data Integration (HL7, APIs) • Stakeholder Engagement Ideal Candidate • Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail • Experience working with health-related data systems and workflows • Effective communicator who can bridge technical and business teams • Comfortable working in complex, high-impact environments • Proactive and solution-oriented with a focus on quality and delivery
