Role description
Business Analyst (Insurance/ Reinsurance) - 3 month contract (Inside IR35) The role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a proven track record in the insurance and reinsurance industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance data, analytics and business processes, and hands-on experience working at insurance carriers, reinsurers, or brokerage firms. In this role, you will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are accurately captured, translated into functional requirements, and effectively implemented into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements. • Support workshops, interviews, and requirement sessions to understand current processes and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement. • Translate business requirements into clear, structured functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical teams. • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and process flow diagrams to visualize requirements and proposed solutions. • Work closely with IT teams (developers, solution architects, QA) to ensure accurate delivery of solutions that meet business needs. • Support the creation of business cases, impact assessments, and solution proposals. • Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) planning and execution by preparing test scenarios and validating system outputs against requirements. • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements and automation opportunities. About You • In-depth experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance or reinsurance industry. • Experience working with insurers, reinsurers, or brokers is essential. • Strong understanding of insurance lifecycle processes (policy, exposure data, claims, underwriting, bordereaux, treaties, etc.). • Proven experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management. • Hands-on experience creating mock-ups, wireframes, and functional specifications. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is a plus. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
