Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with proven expertise in legal operations and court case management systems. This role requires a deep understanding of legal workflows, case management software, and the ability to bridge business requirements with technical solutions in a complex legal environment.
This is an in-person role where an individual is required to be in NYC office. Position may offer hybrid option down the road once the individual establishes enough work efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and document business processes related to legal case management, including intake, discovery, trial preparation, and post-settlement activities
β’ Conduct requirements gathering sessions with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to understand operational pain points and improvement opportunities
β’ Develop detailed functional specifications and user stories for system implementations, configurations, and enhancements
β’ Serve as liaison between technical development teams and legal staff during system deployments and custom integrations
β’ Create training materials, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new systems and processes
β’ Perform data analysis and reporting to measure process efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and track key performance metrics (KPIs) related to case management
β’ Manage system configuration, customization, and testing of case management platforms, including fields, workflows, and automation rules
β’ Support data migration projects, ensuring accuracy and integrity when transitioning between systems
β’ Monitor system performance, user adoption, and provide ongoing support and optimization recommendations
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in business administration, Information Technology, Law, or related field
β’ Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
β’ Preferred 2 years of direct experience working with legal case management systems or legal operations
β’ Strong understanding of legal processes, legal terminology, and case management workflows
β’ Proficiency with business analysis tools (wireframing, process modeling, BPMN) and documentation
β’ Strong SQL knowledge for data analysis and reporting; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
β’ Knowledge of legal compliance requirements (GDPR, CJIS, attorney-client privilege, work product doctrine)
β’ Experience with API integrations and third-party system connections
