Job Title :Business Analyst Location: Ave Miami, FL, Hybrid Duration: 6+months (with possible extension) MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED: This is a Business Analyst position in a large, complex local government organization. This position is within the Information Technology Department for the purpose of assisting in implementing a complex, large scale application. The candidate will work alongside a diverse team of analysts supporting various County Departments. This includes the analysis, design, testing and implementation of a vendor application package, working directly with the customer and vendor solution provider throughout the project lifecycle. The emphasis of the work is on understanding business processes and requirements to provide the best solution for the customer, through the implementation of a vendor package. Candidate must be resident of South Florida. Work Duties / Responsibilities β€’ Requirement Gathering & Solution Design: Collaborate with development teams to translate business requirements into user stories, technical specifications, and system designs. Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings to elicit accurate requirements. β€’ Business Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and effectiveness. β€’ Business Insights & Data Analysis: Translate complex data into actionable insights. Provide recommendations to support strategic software integration and architectural design using data models, SQL, ETL, and Microsoft Office tools. β€’ System Implementation & Testing: Conduct functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system quality and reliability. β€’ Testing Support: Assist in test planning, test case creation, and test execution. Collaborate with QA teams to meet quality standards. β€’ Project Management Support: Manage business analysis tasks using Waterfall and Agile methodologies, track progress, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery. β€’ Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with software vendors, coordinate demonstrations, and oversee vendor solution implementations. β€’ Change Management: Support change management initiatives, including impact assessments, development of training materials, and end-user support during system transitions. β€’ Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers. Provide project updates, status reports, and presentations to keep stakeholders informed. β€’ Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate system performance post-implementation, conduct reviews, and recommend enhancements to optimize functionality and user experience. β€’ Risk Management: Identify and proactively mitigate risks related to business analysis activities. Escalate critical issues as needed to ensure timely resolution. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree. Five years of experience in software implementation and business process analysis are required. Additional related work experience in software development/implementation and business process analysis may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis. Minimum Skills & Experience Required β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. β€’ 5+ years of experience in software implementation and business process analysis. β€’ Experience with complex IT projects in large organizations, including both Waterfall and Agile environments. β€’ Proven experience in gathering and documenting business requirements and analyzing workflows. β€’ Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and data management/infrastructure concepts. β€’ Strong communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills. β€’ Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes. β€’ Must be a resident of South Florida. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience in local or county government technology implementations. β€’ Familiarity with vendor software package deployments and integrated systems. β€’ Experience in testing support, change management, and end-user training.
