Business Analyst

Position Details: Job Title: Business Analyst Location: Hybrid – Lansing, MI Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension) Interview: One-hour In-Person Interview with hiring manager and team Work Schedule (Hybrid – Non-Negotiable) • Onsite Days: Wednesday & Thursday • Remote Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday • Local candidates only – Must be within 90 miles of Lansing, MI at the time of submission Key Responsibilities • Lead requirements gathering sessions with program stakeholders supporting Newborn Screening and Environmental Health initiatives. • Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. • Conduct gap analysis and recommend system improvements to enhance system functionality and operational efficiency. • Support and improve Newborn Screening applications, including specimen tracking, results reporting, and follow-up processes. • Support Environmental Health systems, including sample tracking, chain of custody, and laboratory reporting. • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve system defects and implement system enhancements. • Analyze and document end-to-end workflows such as specimen lifecycle management and environmental sample processing. • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement. • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including test planning, script development, and coordination with stakeholders. • Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions for system enhancements and new implementations. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field. • 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related IT role. • 8+ years of experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process mapping. • 8+ years of experience in developing and executing test plans and test cases. • 8+ years of experience with UAT planning and execution. • Experience supporting Newborn Screening programs and Environmental Health systems. • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. • Experience working with Azure DevOps. • Knowledge of data integration standards such as HL7 and APIs. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
