Position Details:
Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid β Lansing, MI
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Interview: One-hour In-Person Interview with hiring manager and team
Work Schedule (Hybrid β Non-Negotiable)
β’ Onsite Days: Wednesday & Thursday
β’ Remote Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday
β’ Local candidates only β Must be within 90 miles of Lansing, MI at the time of submission
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead requirements gathering sessions with program stakeholders supporting Newborn Screening and Environmental Health initiatives.
β’ Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
β’ Conduct gap analysis and recommend system improvements to enhance system functionality and operational efficiency.
β’ Support and improve Newborn Screening applications, including specimen tracking, results reporting, and follow-up processes.
β’ Support Environmental Health systems, including sample tracking, chain of custody, and laboratory reporting.
β’ Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve system defects and implement system enhancements.
β’ Analyze and document end-to-end workflows such as specimen lifecycle management and environmental sample processing.
β’ Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement.
β’ Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including test planning, script development, and coordination with stakeholders.
β’ Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions for system enhancements and new implementations.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
β’ 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related IT role.
β’ 8+ years of experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process mapping.
β’ 8+ years of experience in developing and executing test plans and test cases.
β’ 8+ years of experience with UAT planning and execution.
β’ Experience supporting Newborn Screening programs and Environmental Health systems.
β’ Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
β’ Experience working with Azure DevOps.
β’ Knowledge of data integration standards such as HL7 and APIs.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
