Business Analyst

The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the Hospital Reporting Tracking System (HRTS). The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, gathering and documenting business requirements, managing Agile work items, coordinating testing activities, and supporting the integration of healthcare systems. Key Responsibilities • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements. • Create and manage user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps. • Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and validate requirements. • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and project managers to ensure successful solution delivery. • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Assist with the implementation and integration of US SAFR with the Hospital Reporting Tracking System (HRTS). • Document business processes, workflows, and system enhancements. • Provide production support, issue analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement. • Track project progress and communicate status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders. • Promote process improvements and ensure alignment between business and technical teams. Required Qualifications • Experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications. • Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements. • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing Agile work items. • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira). • Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders while managing multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with healthcare information systems, hospital operations, or Health IT. • Knowledge of healthcare system integrations, data exchanges, or reporting systems. • Experience supporting enterprise application implementation and production support. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
