Role description
Business Analyst/Data Governance Analyst - IAF - Risk - Banking Excellent opportunity opens up to join a major Bank based in London as their new Business Analyst/Data Governance Analyst. This opportunity offers the chance to play a key part in data governance and act as a central coordinator across different teams. You would have a significant role in the monthly Information Area Forum (IAF), and as part of the Advanced Analytics & Frameworks team, you would act as the Second Line Of Defence, providing independent oversight and control across the Bank's principle risks. Responsibilities • Consolidate and prepare the material to be presented in the Information Area Forum (IAF), including but not limited to the monitoring and reporting templates provided by the Data Management team and any other relevant material provided by IAF participants, Data SMEs and the Data Management team. • Act as IAF Secretariat. Support the Chair to run the IAF, draft and finalize minutes. • Ensure that the IAF material is prepared, reviewed and distributed on time so that the monthly IAF can take place on schedule, at the expected frequency and in a manner compliant with business needs and the Terms of Resistance. • Follow up on the Actions determined in each Forum. Coordinate and collaborate with IAF participants and other colleagues if required to ensure actions are followed up in a timely manner. • Operates in alignment with the Risk Management framework and applicable risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring any concerns are escalated to the line manager in a timely and appropriate manner. • Maintain the tracker of known Data Quality Issues by collaborating with Data SMEs and the Data Management Team. Relevant Experience • Relevant experience working with data governance or business analysis within financial services; • Have an understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles and data management best practices; • Be a strong communicator with the ability to coordinate activities and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders; • Be comfortable working with various MS Excel features such as formulas and pivot tables; • Be pro-active and have excellent organisational skills; and • Familiar with regulatory requirements.
