Role description
We’re seeking a junior to mid-level Data Analyst to join a leading healthcare program focused on Medicaid reporting and analytics. This role supports critical patient-level reporting and analytics for government compliance and program integrity. You’ll work directly under the hiring manager and be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving automated reporting processes.
If you’re detail-oriented, curious about healthcare data, and comfortable with SQL, Excel, and Python (or R), this is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain, modify, and build Python-based automated reports for large patient-level datasets (up to 1M+ rows).
• Write and optimize SQL queries from scratch for data validation and reporting.
• Use Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, advanced functions) for data cleaning and analysis.
• Support data visualization and reporting using Tableau or Power BI at a basic level.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate Medicaid reporting deliverables.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (recent grads encouraged to apply).
• 1–2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or related roles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
• Proficiency in:
• SQL (writing queries from scratch)
• Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
• Python (read/modify scripts)
Nice-to-Have Skills
• R
• Alteryx or similar ETL tools
• Strong data cleaning and transformation experience
• Exposure to healthcare or Medicaid reporting environments
This position offers a chance to build technical and domain experience in healthcare data analytics, with real potential for long-term (12 month) contract open to extension.
If you’re organized, eager to learn, and thrive in a data-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.
