Overview
Weβre supporting a Data Consultancy who is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery of large-scale, Azure-based data initiatives.
This role sits within multi-disciplinary delivery teams focused on modern data platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will be a data-focused Technical BA, capable of operating between business stakeholders and technical teams, with sufficient technical depth to engage credibly on data and platform discussions, without being hands-on at an engineering level.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams
β’ Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for data and analytics initiatives
β’ Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
β’ Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and Analytics teams across Azure data platforms
β’ Support initiatives involving data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and AI-enabled use cases
β’ Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and backlog refinement sessions
β’ Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical solutions, and delivery outcomes
β’ Support UAT planning, execution, and defect triage
β’ Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including:
β’ Process flows
β’ Data mappings
β’ Solution and platform overviews
Required Experience & Skills
β’ Proven experience working as a Technical Business Analyst on data-led programmes
β’ Strong understanding of modern data platforms and data architectures
β’ Hands-on experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
β’ Familiarity with technologies such as, Databricks & Microsoft Fabric, Data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
β’ Ability to engage confidently with technical teams on:
β’ Data pipelines and ingestion patterns
β’ Reporting and analytics use cases
β’ AI and advanced analytics concepts (at a conceptual level)
β’ Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
β’ Experience working within Agile / Scrum delivery environments
β’ Ability to produce clear documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable Experience
β’ Exposure to AI / Machine Learning initiatives from a requirements or delivery perspective
β’ Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
β’ Background supporting enterprise-scale data transformation programmes
β’ Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and security considerations
