Data Business Analyst (Contract โ Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to support a high-profile data migration programme within a fast-paced, private equity-backed organisation. This is a remote contract opportunity suited to someone with strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and hands-on experience delivering complex data migration projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to analyse existing data structures, define migration requirements, improve data quality, and ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
โข Gather, analyse, and document business and data requirements for migration initiatives
โข Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology functions to define target-state data processes and mappings
โข Support end-to-end data migration activities including data profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and testing
โข Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories
โข Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to capture requirements and drive decision-making
โข Work closely with data engineers, project managers, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle
โข Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies related to data quality and migration activities
โข Produce clear documentation including process flows, mapping documents, and migration plans
โข Support UAT planning and execution to ensure successful implementation
Required Experience
โข Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst within large-scale data migration or transformation programmes
โข Experience working in private equity-backed, fast-growth, or transformation-led environments
โข Strong understanding of data structures, data governance, and migration methodologies
โข Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise system migrations
โข Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
โข Ability to work independently in a remote environment
โข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
โข Strong documentation
Desirable Skills
โข Experience working with SQL or data visualisation/reporting tools
โข Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
โข Familiarity with data quality tools and reconciliation processes
