Data Business Analyst (Contract – Remote) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to support a high-profile data migration programme within a fast-paced, private equity-backed organisation. This is a remote contract opportunity suited to someone with strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and hands-on experience delivering complex data migration projects. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to analyse existing data structures, define migration requirements, improve data quality, and ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams. Key Responsibilities • Gather, analyse, and document business and data requirements for migration initiatives • Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology functions to define target-state data processes and mappings • Support end-to-end data migration activities including data profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and testing • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to capture requirements and drive decision-making • Work closely with data engineers, project managers, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies related to data quality and migration activities • Produce clear documentation including process flows, mapping documents, and migration plans • Support UAT planning and execution to ensure successful implementation Required Experience • Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst within large-scale data migration or transformation programmes • Experience working in private equity-backed, fast-growth, or transformation-led environments • Strong understanding of data structures, data governance, and migration methodologies • Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise system migrations • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong documentation Desirable Skills • Experience working with SQL or data visualisation/reporting tools • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies • Familiarity with data quality tools and reconciliation processes Contract Details • Contract role • Fully remote • Competitive day rate • Immediate or short-notice availability preferred If you are a proactive Data Business Analyst with a strong background in data migration projects and thrive in fast-moving transformation environments, we would love to hear from you.
