Business Data Analyst
Location: Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

About the Role
We are looking for a Business Data Analyst who combines strong analytical thinking with business acumen to uncover insights that drive strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can partner effectively with stakeholders, define analytical requirements, and translate data into actionable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, define KPIs, and translate them into measurable metrics (building data pipelines, KPI creations, and root cause analysis).
β’ Generate hypotheses, analyze data to validate or refute them, and deliver insights that inform business strategies.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into data solutions.
β’ Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track performance and trends.
β’ Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
β’ Use Python (or similar scripting tools) for deeper analysis, automation, and model development.
β’ Present findings and recommendations to business and technical teams in a clear, compelling way.
Qualifications & Skills
Must Have:
β’ Strong business acumen with a track record of linking analytics to tangible business outcomes.
β’ Hands-on experience in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau).
β’ Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including hypothesis-driven analysis.
β’ Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
β’ Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, or cloud platforms (AWS).
β’ Exposure to statistical analysis, A/B testing, or predictive modeling.
