Title: Business Data Analyst
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract to Hire
W2 only, no C2C
Compensation: $85,000-$105,000

About The Role
Our client, a rapidly growing organization in the healthcare and financial services ecosystem, is seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst to take ownership of its enterprise-wide data operations. This is a high-visibility position working closely with senior leadership and supporting data-driven decision making across revenue, operations, commissions, carrier relationships, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is a self-directed analytics expert—someone who thrives in both building new systems and optimizing existing ones. You will have access to comprehensive internal and partner-related data, and you’ll play a critical role in transforming raw information into trusted insights, automated processes, and actionable reporting.
Job Description
As the Business Data Analyst, you will be responsible for developing data models, dashboards, and reports that support operational efficiency, revenue analysis, and organizational strategy. You will work cross-functionally with operations, accounting, leadership, and external partners to ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency of all data outputs.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, clean, validate, and analyze data to support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain analytic reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Design, document, and maintain data processes, including step-by-step procedural manuals.
• Build basic to complex data models for business and financial reporting.
• Provide analytical support and reporting for multiple brands with varying data requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Compile, validate, and prepare commission and incentive compensation data prior to payroll submission.
• Coordinate commission payroll with internal teams and external partners, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting-related data inquiries, operational data requests, and reporting needs.
• Support financial reconciliation through documentation and data extraction.
• Assist in training teammates on data tools and analytical best practices.
• Perform audits with carriers and manage high-level data access across key revenue channels.
• Proactively deliver recurring reports and anticipate partner data needs.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of benchmarking and survey methodologies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in general insurance or related fields (financial services, marketing, B2B customer service, call center).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Access for reporting.
• Strong data analysis skills, including pivot tables and data validation.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Business intelligence competencies, including data gathering, organization, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience reviewing and validating financial, operational, or compensation-related data.
• Ability to design clear, structured documentation for processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field — or equivalent experience.
• SQL experience (highly preferred).
• Certificate in Data Analysis or similar credential.
• Experience building dashboards using BI tools.
• Background supporting commission processing or payroll-adjacent workflows.
• Experience designing or improving data workflows, automations, or CRM systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for optimizing processes.
