Role description
Position Summary:
Title: Business Analyst Standard II
Duration: 6 Months β Long term extensions
Location: Washington, DC 20433
Hybrid Onsite: 4 days onsite per week from Day 1
HM Notes: Strong experience in Financial and Investment domains. Proficient in modern data warehouse concepts and implementation of curated data sets. Proficient in SQL. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective team player. Excellent communication skills.
Essential Job Functions:
β’ Interface with the business client to understand business needs and requirements, and to help develop and maintain the client relationship
β’ Identify business and functional requirements by working with application end-users, and lead the collection, analysis, documentation, and coordination of those requirements
β’ Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is on the same page, in agreement, and can visualize the solution being proposed
β’ Develop and maintain business cases, requirements, use cases, test plans, test strategies, test cases, and operational procedures and plans
β’ Document business processes and workflows, develop and maintain business process models
β’ Craft business cases to evaluate the feasibility of technology initiatives
β’ Design and execute test cases for application development and implementation projects
β’ Collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are feasible to meet business requirements
β’ Leverage rapid prototyping approaches to present as-is/to-be processes/workflows and rough designs of the proposed solution
β’ Maintain a comprehensive chronological trail of requirements and agreements and actively contribute to the project change control process. Document and manage issues and actions
β’ Provide overall support to ensure the successful design, testing, and implementation of applications that support the business unit, Also, provide support in developing training materials and conducting training
β’ Document and manage issues and actions for IT applications and projects
β’ Prepare and make presentations using MS PowerPoint, Visio, and other tools and clearly present ideas to stakeholders and management
β’ Participate in the evaluation of new products or initiatives to determine the technology support required
β’ Evaluate applications and IT environments, and analyze gaps between current and desired states
β’ Propose recommendations based on industry best practices
β’ Develop, deploy, and maintain business capability models, according to the Bankβs institutional methodology
Must Have Skills:
β’ The BA should be able to think outside the box, challenge existing processes, analyze requirements, and break them down into well-defined user stories with sufficient details and achievable acceptance criteria.
β’ Should possess an analytical and curious mindset to ask the right questions and effectively qualify business requirements.
β’ Someone whoβs genuine, honest, and smart, enthusiastic, accountable, a strong communicator, and always willing to go the extra mile to get things done.
β’ 4-8 years of experience as a true business analyst.
β’ Extensive experience in gathering business requirements and developing functional specifications.
β’ Working level experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
