Business Data Analyst | £500 - £580
We're working with a leading energy sectors consultancy driving the UK's most critical infrastructure transformations on this exciting opportunity. This is a chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the electricity market, working on high-impact programmes like MHHS and Faster Switching.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex energy data and strategic business processes. We are looking for a specialist who thrives on designing logical data models, mapping data lineage, and engaging with high-level industry stakeholders to deliver future-state market solutions.
The Role
• Lead the end-to-end design and documentation of business processes and data models for major industry programmes (MHHS, Faster Switching, or Nexus).
• Develop and maintain critical data artefacts including logical data models, comprehensive data catalogues, and precise data definitions.
• Map complex data lineage and define data ownership/mastership to ensure robust governance across the energy ecosystem.
• Design interface specifications and support the integration of complex systems across diverse market participants.
• Facilitate high-stakes industry working groups, presenting complex data concepts to both technical architects and non-technical business leaders.
What You'll Need
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst specifically within the UK Electricity or Energy Markets.
• Direct experience working on large-scale industry-wide programmes such as MHHS (Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement), Faster Switching, or Nexus.
• Deep technical expertise in Logical Data Modelling and the creation of structured interface specifications.
• Strong background in data governance, including data lineage, master data management, and data flow analysis.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and lead discussions in formal industry forums and working groups.
