Business Data Analyst πŸ“ Austin, TX (Hybrid: On-Site & Remote) πŸ•’ Contract | Start Date: October 27, 2025 | End Date: August 31, 2026 About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Business Data Analyst with 8+ years of expertise to join our team on a long-term contract engagement. This role requires strong analytical skills, business process understanding, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions. The Business Data Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to assess current systems, identify gaps, and document comprehensive business requirements for new system implementations and enhancements. This individual will be responsible for writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. Key Responsibilities β€’ Understand business objectives, analyze existing requirements, and document current processes, data flows, and system capabilities. β€’ Conduct cost/benefit analysis of alternative solutions and recommend process or system improvements. β€’ Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements including Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria. β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and development/QA teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and implemented. β€’ Lead workshops, interviews, and data-focused meetings to gather insights and drive consensus. β€’ Create and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, business requirement documents, and data mapping specifications. β€’ Design and present visual data models, dashboards, and performance trends. β€’ Support policy interpretation within eligibility and case management systems. Minimum Qualifications β€’ 8+ years hands-on experience as a Business Data Analyst in IT, with strong documentation and analytical skills. β€’ Proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to solve complex data-driven business challenges. β€’ Expertise in designing and optimizing data workflows, processes, and models. β€’ Skilled in writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria for both functional and non-functional requirements. β€’ Experience with data-related documentation (data dictionaries, mapping, BRDs). β€’ Strong presentation skills with the ability to create and deliver dashboards and visual data models. β€’ Demonstrated leadership in conducting workshops, documenting outcomes, and resolving data-related issues. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience). β€’ Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent data projects. β€’ Knowledge of eligibility rules for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF programs, with experience interpreting and applying policy guidelines. β€’ Experience working within integrated eligibility case management systems. Engagement Details β€’ Duration: October 27, 2025 – August 31, 2026 (approx. 2000 hours). β€’ Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT (occasional evenings/weekends may be required). β€’ Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – onsite and telework). β€’ Travel expenses (if applicable) must comply with state guidelines.
