Business Data Analyst - SQL, Vizualization, Documentation

We’re seeking a Business Data Analyst who blends user experience, business analysis, and data analysis with excellent documentation skills. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders to analyze data, gather requirements, and deliver insights that drive strategic decision-making. You’ll ensure our analytics solutions are user-centered, secure, and accessible, while driving process improvements and supporting data governance initiatives. What You’ll Do • Requirements Gathering: Elicit, document, and validate business requirements; create user stories, use cases, and process flows. • Data Analysis: Use SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to analyze data, resolve quality issues, and prepare reports for stakeholders. • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and drive data governance with accurate metadata. • Project Support: Partner with project managers on scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables. • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships, facilitate communication, and align technical solutions with business needs. What We’re Looking For • Strong SQL skills with experience in data modeling, ETL, and data governance. • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel). • Background in requirements gathering, documentation, and process improvement. • Project management experience in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environments. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Waste Management industry experience a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related). Other: Valid Driver’s License required.
