Business Data Analyst – Investment Management - Contract
A leading global investment management business is seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to join their global data function, helping to enhance how investment data is captured, managed, and delivered. The role is a mix of business and data analysis, focusing on improving investment workflows, supporting decision-making, and ensuring accurate, actionable portfolio data.
The Business Data Analyst is expected to:
• Capture and translate business needs into clear data requirements, ensuring solutions meet both operational and analytical objectives.
• Work with stakeholders across Investment, Operations, Risk, and Technology to map, improve, and streamline data workflows.
• Collaborate with broader data team and external providers to define how data is integrated, maintained, and validated across systems.
• Establish processes and controls to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and reliable for business and regulatory purposes.
• Perform detailed data analysis, validation, and reconciliation to support reporting, investment insights, and operational improvements.
• Support testing and implementation of data changes, ensuring requirements are correctly translated into system solutions.
• Lead workshops and meetings to gather input, facilitate decision-making, and communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
The successful Business Data Analyst will possess:
• Experience in asset management, wealth management, or related investment operations, with exposure to investment data and workflow.
• Experience working with outsourced or fiduciary investment solutions (OCIO), including managing data and reporting requirements across third-party investment managers
• Hands-on experience with data analysis, SQL, or similar tools to interrogate and validate large datasets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
