Employment Type: 6-month Contract Pay Rate: up to $53/hour Location: Tulsa, OK | On-Site Position Summary: We are seeking a Business Data Scientist I to join our growing technology and analytics team within the Oil & Energy sector. The ideal candidate will assist in building sophisticated data models, generating insights, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) and business intelligence (BI) tools to uncover business opportunities and streamline decision-making processes. You'll collaborate with market intelligence partners and cross-functional teams to develop scalable, data-driven solutions that power operational excellence. This role is perfect for professionals with a strong programming foundation, an analytical mindset, and a passion for problem-solving and process improvement. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement business intelligence reporting, data models, and advanced analytical solutions. • Design scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation. • Create and optimize data visualization tools and dashboards to enhance user accessibility and decision-making. • Assist in developing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive statistical models to solve key business challenges. • Work with large datasets in hybrid cloud environments across multiple systems, utilizing machine learning, AI, and statistical techniques. • Collaborate with internal teams to design and deploy end-to-end data solutions aligned with business goals. • Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to data governance and security best practices. • Perform other duties and analytics projects as assigned. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in database development, data analytics, or within the natural gas or energy industry. • Proven hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, specifically: • Power Apps (application development) • Power Pages (web app creation) • Power Automate (workflow automation) • Strong understanding of data modeling, business intelligence tools, and cloud-based analytics environments. • Solid programming foundation in Python, SQL, or R. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: • Experience with machine learning frameworks and AI model integration. • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. • Background in oil & energy, utilities, or industrial analytics environments. • Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud ecosystems.
