BCforward is currently seeking a Tableau Administrator (Enterprise Tableau Server Environment) Position Title: Tableau Administrator (Enterprise Tableau Server Environment) Location: Remote Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target start date and is subject to change. BCforward will provide official notice ahead of a confirmed start date Expected Duration: 6+ Months Potential Extension/Conversion: High potential for extension or full-time conversion Job Type: Full time (40 Hours per Week) Pay Range: $60/hr -$70/hr About the Role We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator to support and maintain an enterprise-scale Tableau environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and governance of the Tableau platform while partnering with analytics, data engineering, and business teams to deliver a seamless reporting experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Tableau Server in large-scale environments, managing security and access controls, optimizing platform performance, and supporting upgrades and migrations. Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or government is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities β€’ Administer, configure, maintain, and support Tableau Server environments. β€’ Monitor platform health, performance, and availability using Tableau Services Manager (TSM), administrative views, and server logs. β€’ Manage user access, permissions, licensing, Active Directory integration, and role-based security. β€’ Configure and maintain SSO, SAML, LDAP, and authentication mechanisms. β€’ Optimize Tableau Server performance, including extract refreshes, schedules, backgrounder processes, and resource utilization. β€’ Support Tableau Server upgrades, patches, migrations, and environment enhancements. β€’ Implement and enforce governance standards, content certification processes, folder structures, and naming conventions. β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve server issues, failed refreshes, performance bottlenecks, and user-reported incidents. β€’ Develop and maintain automation solutions using TabCmd, TSM, Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting tools. β€’ Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, cloud teams, and business stakeholders to support analytics initiatives. β€’ Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and support knowledge repositories. β€’ Ensure platform security, compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to organizational standards. Required Qualifications β€’ 3+ years of Tableau Server Administration experience in enterprise environments. β€’ Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Server, TSM, and Tableau platform management. β€’ Experience managing permissions, security groups, licensing, and authentication methods. β€’ Knowledge of Tableau extracts, scheduling, backgrounder processes, and performance tuning. β€’ Experience troubleshooting Tableau Server issues and optimizing platform stability. β€’ Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts. β€’ Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments. β€’ Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. β€’ Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Tableau Certified Administrator or Tableau Server Certified Professional certification. β€’ Experience in healthcare, life sciences, financial services, government, or other regulated environments. β€’ Experience with Epic Clarity, Epic Caboodle, Cerner, SAP, or enterprise data platforms. β€’ Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or TabCmd. β€’ Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or cloud-native administration practices. β€’ Experience supporting Tableau Cloud or hybrid Tableau deployments.
