Business Intelligence Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst Specialist for an on-site contract in Austin, TX. Responsibilities: The Business Intelligence Analyst Specialist will serve as a senior technical lead and liaison between IT and program stakeholders within a large-scale health and human services data environment. This role is responsible for translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions, supporting enterprise reporting, and enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple programs and systems. The position will work within an Agile development framework supporting a data integration and analytics environment. Responsibilities include gathering and documenting requirements, developing complex SQL queries, supporting BI reporting and dashboard development, validating data outputs, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards. The role also includes guiding non-technical users in AI-based data query and prompt development, supporting data literacy initiatives, troubleshooting data issues across systems, and collaborating with IT, data engineering, and program teams to improve data quality and reporting effectiveness. This position also serves as a key communicator of technical findings in clear, non-technical language to business stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex data requests into actionable technical specifications • 10+ years of experience explaining technical findings and data limitations in clear, non-technical language to end users • 10+ years of extensive experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Systems Analysis, or data liaison roles • 10+ years of experience with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis • 10+ years of experience collaborating with stakeholders to create and validate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for operational and strategic reporting • 10+ years of experience with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills • 10+ years of experience with Power BI and/or Tableau for reporting and dashboard development Preferred Qualifications: • 5+ years of previous experience leading Agile sprint cycles, epics, stories, and hybrid Waterfall project management activities • 5+ years of knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments • 5+ years of experience serving as a primary liaison between business users and technical teams for reporting and data needs • 5+ years of experience working in healthcare, Medicaid, Health and Human Services, or similarly regulated environments • 5+ years of experience with data governance and data quality principles • 2+ years of previous experience in data literacy training and mentoring non-technical users • 1+ years of experience in AI prompt development, including creating structured prompt libraries or using tools such as Streamlit with Python • 1+ years of experience applying responsible AI practices and compliance standards in analytics environments What We Offer: Competitive compensation and benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
