Role description
Business Intelligence Analyst
Long term, ongoing contract
Hybrid in Nashville, TN (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and deliver technical solutions that align with functional needs by translating end-user requirements into effective data models, visualizations, and reporting solutions using enterprise data warehouse resources.
• Participate in strategic planning and solution design with cross-functional teams.
• Utilize SQL, Snowflake, SAP Business Objects, and other business intelligence tools to extract, validate, analyze, and report on data from enterprise data platforms and approved data sources.
• Lead end-user testing efforts, develop database queries to evaluate system behavior, identify root causes, and resolve data or reporting issues.
• Support an iterative development process to continuously improve reporting and analytics solutions.
• Gather and refine requirements for enhancements to existing reporting systems, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and streamlining business processes.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, data dictionaries, and business glossaries to promote data consistency and transparency.
• Perform data validation, mapping, reconciliation, and analysis across multiple source systems.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Collect, audit, and reconcile monthly business billing data from third-party partners, process files into the required format, and submit them into enterprise billing systems.
• Partner with internal business teams to audit and maintain ongoing operational data accuracy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts.
• Experience writing SQL scripts to troubleshoot reporting and query issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience:
• Experience designing data visualizations and working with business intelligence and data mining tools.
• Strong SQL proficiency required.
• Solid understanding of relational database design and modeling.
• Experience with Snowflake and SAP Business Objects preferred.
• Web development experience is a plus.
• 5+ years of database experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting supply chain, operations, manufacturing, aftersales, or purchasing environments is preferred.
• Experience working with technical product or parts data is beneficial.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
Additional Skills
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with enterprise applications and legacy systems to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Technical or programming experience is preferred.
