Business Intelligence Analyst

Position Title: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst Location: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite/Hybrid as directed by CareerSource Florida & WSER)| CareerSource Florida, Inc. Start Date: Anticipated November 10, 2025 Duration: Through June 30, 2026 (with possible 1-year renewals) Candidate Resume (Max 5 pages) Contract Information • Hours: Up to 2,080 hours Position Overview The Decision Support Administrator – Advanced will support the Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research (WSER) within Florida Commerce. This role involves working with business intelligence tools, optimizing queries, supporting reporting needs, and conducting advanced data analysis to produce actionable insights that inform statewide workforce and economic policy. Key Responsibilities • Support user community in the use of business intelligence (BI) tools for querying and reporting. • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets. • Review and improve queries for performance and efficiency. • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights. • Design, develop, and deliver reports, dashboards, and visualizations. • Maintain metadata coordination and support production systems. • Provide technical documentation and user support for BI and reporting tools. • Ensure interoperability, security, and performance of front-end BI components. • Apply statistical methods to analyze workforce and economic data in alignment with WSER objectives. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. • Monitor system usage and implement upgrades as necessary. Required Qualifications • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; OR equivalent professional experience. • Experience: • Minimum 7 years IT experience. • At least 5 years working with BI tools and systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle BI, Tableau, Power BI). • At least 5 years’ experience in economic or statistical data analysis. • Strong skills in SQL development, optimization, and database management. • Proficiency in data modeling, data preprocessing, and data quality assurance. • Familiarity with OLAP tools, data warehousing, and metadata management. • Ability to translate complex data into user-friendly reports and insights. • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Additional Requirements • Must pass a Level 2 background screening (FDLE & FBI fingerprint check). • Must comply with E-Verify requirements for employment eligibility. • Must not be on restricted or scrutinized vendor/company lists (per Florida statutes). • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on project teams.
