Business Intelligence (BI) Developer – Cognos & Power BI

Title: Business Intelligence (BI) Developer – Cognos & Power BI Location: Remote - USA Duration: Long-term Contract / [or specify exact duration] Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, develop, implement, and maintain robust BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cognos, Power BI, and SQL/DB2, with a solid understanding of data modeling, reporting, and performance optimization in enterprise environments. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using IBM Cognos (10.2.1) and Microsoft Power BI. • Create and optimize complex SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and system performance. • Work with DB2 databases in a Linux environment to extract, transform, and analyze data. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into BI solutions. • Ensure system security, data integrity, and high performance of BI applications. • Use JIRA and JAMA for issue tracking, documentation, and project management. • Provide knowledge sharing and assist with training other BI team members. Minimum Qualifications ✅ 7+ years of experience as a BI Developer ✅ 7+ years of experience developing reports/dashboards using Cognos 10.2.1 and Power BI ✅ Proficiency in Cognos toolsets – Framework Manager, Transformer, SDK, Event Studio, Query/Analysis Studio, Cognos Administration ✅ Strong SQL development experience (DB2 preferred) ✅ Experience working in Linux environments ✅ Hands-on experience with JIRA and JAMA ✅ Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications ⭐ Experience with TxDMV RTS data or similar data environments ⭐ 7+ years of experience with DB2 and SQL optimization ⭐ Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders PriceSenz is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
